Engineering note
The double-booking prevention lives at the database layer, not the UI. Serializable transactions in PostgreSQL (via Prisma) prevent conflicts under concurrent write pressure - the kind of gap that paper logbooks and naive first-come-first-served systems cannot close. Operational consistency has to be enforced at the data layer or it is not enforced at all.
